The Faces of The Kadie Project

Ky professional shot.jpg

Ky Newsome

Co-Founder

Ky brings over 20 years of non-profit experience. She is passionate about ending gender-based violence and advocates for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors by day. Through her love for community and her purpose to inspire change, Ky founded a program working with marginalized youth in her local community in 2011. This program provided mentorships, community service opportunities, leadership development programs, and educational support to youth often overlooked in rural communities.

In 2019, Ky co-founded The Kadie Project, named after her 7-year-old daughter, who was confronted with racism at three years old. Understanding that these conversations are not foreign within BIPOC households, Ky decided to use this as a teaching opportunity. Since 2019, The Kadie Project has collected over $8,000 in multicultural resources.

Ky also provides cultural awareness, diversity, equity, and inclusion training to other organizations.
